Tuned In
Before the days of satellite radio, car music relied on connecting
with local radio waves. This could limit options, especially on a road trip
through rural areas. I noticed that down south, it seemed music options were
limited to old country, new country, and gospel. What a stroke of luck to land
on a station with your favorite music genre, with a strong enough signal to
last an hour or two.
These invisible radio waves are all around us, and we never
even notice unless we have a receiver. In the same way, we have voices all
around us, all the time. There are voices in the news, on social media, at the
water cooler, on the front porch, from the pulpit, even inside your head. We only
hear them if we tune in, and we can always change the channel.
There is only one Voice that is Truth; one Voice that seeks
me out. If I can hear God’s Voice, in the midst of chaos, challenges, and uncertainty,
He’ll guide me through. He’ll provide encouragement or hope or whatever I need
for the day. But it’s up to me to choose His station, to tune into His wavelength.
How do you listen for Truth?
